Disney At Night

Some might think Disney World is just for the kids, but there is also much to do to keep the adults purely entertained. Of course there are the attractions. We won't go into much details about the obvious but honorable mentions include Avatar Flight of Passage and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

We stayed at the Disney Polynesian Village Resort. This hotel had several dining options including a luau with live performances, an all-you-can-eat buffet, and a Hawaiian-inspired restaurant appropriately named 'Ohana. The meals here come family style and there is definitely enough to feed everyone at your table. You can easily get lost in the enormous-sized appetizers of chicken wings, dumplings, bread, and a mixed greens salad. So try not to get too full. Then comes the main course of the 'Ohana Dinner Skillet. A large sizzling platter of grilled teriyaki beef, peel-n-eat shrimp, grilled chicken, udon noodles, and roasted broccolini. If you have any room left, your choice of bread pudding or donuts are served for dessert. The portion sizes here are incredibly huge. Everyone needs to be hungry, or seriously..do not come here. Vegan/Vegetarian? There is also a plant-based family style menu available.

Inside the same hotel you'll find an inconspicuous tiki bar named Trader Sam Grotto's. After 8pm this place turns into an adult-only theme bar serving over-the-top tropical cocktails and bar bites. The bartenders are very entertaining and the drinks are sure to help you unwind from a long day in the park.

Next day, hop on the monorail, which is conveniently located right outside the hotel, and head to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Located inside is the Harambe Market. The menu states it features an "African inspired menu" featuring dishes such as Tikka Masala Chicken and Malva Spiced Cake. A black eye pea salad comes as a side for a number of their dishes. (Keep in mind this is Disney World. Spices are slightly more prominent here and stand out from other food spots.)

Another honorable mention is the Hollywood Brown Derby. A replica of the iconic restaurant, this spot is located inside Hollywood Studios. This is definitely the restaurant to visit for an upscale dining experience. Ambience, service, and a possible celebrity sighting (we sat across from rapper Ja Rule). We recommend the Shrimp & Scallops Newberg and the Wild Mushroom Risotto.

For all the cocktail lovers, we recommend trying Drinking Around the World in Epcot Center. You can try a variety of drinks from all over the globe, from Mexico to Norway. There are plenty so if you don't get to try them all its okay. Check out the map and pick a handful. It's the fastest and safest way.
