Jollof Rice and The City

There's a new restaurant in Midtown serving up authentic Nigerian food one bowl at a time. This place is called Dùndú. The woman-owned business, (which is named after a Yoruba meal), allows first-timers and African foodies alike the opportunity to taste a bit of Nigeria right in the heart of the city.

The menu is easy. Choose one of their pre-made bowls like the Vegan Fiesta Bowl, which contains charred carrots and their signature take on Ata Dindin. You can also make your own bowl. Start with picking your base; a choice of salad, grains, or a combination of both. We chose the jollofrice. They give you a hearty serving of flavorful warm rice. We also chose the Goat Stew and the Efo Riro, stewed kale with smoked turkey, and a side of Sweet Plantains. All items in the bowl were seasoned and did not disappoint. Not in the city? Dùndú also delivers to the Tri-State area.
